My story
My name is Michael Duffin, and I am running to be the next Representative for Virginia’s 8th Congressional District.
Despite faithfully honoring my oath to the Constitution as a member of the Department of State for 12 years, I was terminated on July 11 as part of the Trump administration’s purge of foreign policy experts. Like many federal workers and contractors in Northern Virginia and across the National Capital Region, my family is also experiencing the pain, the sorrow, and the economic anxiety from these unprecedented and illegal cuts to the federal workforce.
As a father of two young boys, I am deeply concerned about the world they will grow up in. Our country is in troubled waters because of the Trump administration’s reckless and corrupt actions. We need leadership who can be there for the long run to effectively counter MAGA’s xenophobic and antidemocratic agenda and steer us out of this storm. I am ready for this fight!
